To My Beloved Mima

I was born in Puerto Rico to a very musical family. My maternal grandmother , 'Mima', was my first vocal coach. She taught me songs from her youth while we traveled in her pink Chevy Bel Air. She insisted that I sing with feeling:  "Mayita, tienes que cantar con emoción!" (You must sing with feeling!) She would provide the harmonies.
